  19. Have you ever used the Internet, AOL, or CompuServe?  If so,
  20. you've probably encountered Zip files.  Are you a Windows user?
  21. If so, WinZip is THE way to handle these archived files.

  23. WinZip brings the convenience of Windows to the use of Zip files
  24. and other compression formats.  WinZip features include:

  26. Seamless Windows integration:  WinZip includes tight integration
  27. with My Computer and Windows Explorer.  Drag and drop to or from
  28. Explorer, or zip and unzip without leaving Explorer.

  40. familiar "wizard" interface to simplify the process of zipping,
  41. unzipping, and installing software distributed in Zip files.
  42. The WinZip Wizard is not targeted at experienced users, but is
  43. ideal for the rapidly growing number of PC users getting started
  44. with Zip files.  When these users gain confidence or want to use
  45. more advanced zipping features, the full WinZip Classic interface
  46. is just a click away.

  48. Favorite Zip Folders:  WinZip lets you organize Zip files into
  49. one convenient list that is sorted by date, making it easier to
  50. locate all Zip files, regardless of where they came from or where
  51. they are stored.  Unlike the standard File->Open Archive dialog
  52. box, the Favorite Zip Folders dialog box treats the contents of
  53. multiple folders as though they were one folder.  A Search
  54. facility will find any Zip files lost on your hard disk.

  118. WinZip is extremely easy to use!  To open an archive simply
  119. double click on an archive listed in My Computer or Windows
  120. Explorer, drag and drop an archive onto WinZip, or use the
  121. standard Open dialog box.  The main WinZip window features a
  122. list with the names, sizes, and date/time stamps of all files
  123. in the open archive.  This list can be scrolled and sorted on
  124. any field.  A configurable tool bar provides fast access to
  125. commonly used actions.  Extensive context sensitive help is
  126. always available.

  128. Double clicking on a file in the main WinZip window has the same
  129. effect as double clicking in My Computer or Windows Explorer.
  130. First the file is extracted from the archive.  Then, if the file
  131. is executable, it is run.  Otherwise, the file is opened by the
  132. appropriate application (for example, WordPad for *.WRI files)
  133. based on standard Windows associations.

  135. The Windows Drag and Drop interface is fully supported.  You can
  136. drag and drop files from WinZip to other applications.  WinZip
  137. will extract the files before dropping them on the target
  138. application.  The target application will treat the files as if
  139. they had been dropped from My Computer or Windows Explorer.  You
  140. can also drop archives on WinZip to open them, or drop files on
  141. WinZip to add them to the open archive.

  145. WinZip requires Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, Windows
  146. 2000, Windows Me, or Windows XP.  While no other programs are
  147. required for basic operations involving ZIP, TAR, GZ, Z files,
  148. UUencoded, XXencoded, BinHex, or MIME files, some optional
  149. features require external programs.  See the help file for
